Liulin Church, nestled halfway up the mountain in Liulin County, Shanxi Province, was constructed over four years using a concrete frame, washed stone exterior walls, and blue tile roofs. Its circular bell tower and 20-square-meter stained glass rose window echo the local train station architecture and Catholic traditions, with artists embedding cosmic galaxy patterns that metaphorize divine creation. The priest interprets the crisscrossing domes as embodying the biblical "Five Loaves and Two Fish" miracle, symbolizing faith's transformative power. Amidst the coal-dust haze of its environment, the church refracts prismatic light beams representing soul purification. Built by local parishioners with scarce resources, it actualizes the scripture "a city set on a hill cannot be hidden," revealing how miracles emerge through persistent faith-driven efforts.
